Polyester Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY)

Polyester FDY stands for Polyester Fully Drawn Yarn. Also known as polyester filament yarn (PFY) or spun drawn yarn (SDY). FDY is mainly used as a weft or weave in the manufacture of textiles. FDY can be knitted or woven together with other filament yarns to create different variations of fabric. Mainly used for home furnishing fabrics, fashion fabrics, denim, terry towels, etc. FDY yarns are available in three main clusters. Semi-Dull (SD), Bright (BR) with circular cross- section, and Trilobal Bright (TBR) with a triangular cross-section. Trilobal high gloss filament yarns are widely used in the manufacture of curtains, bed sheets, and carpets. FDY is available in both raw white and spun colors. Instead of first making the fabric with FDY Raw-white and then dyeing it, you can use solution-dyed FDY yarn to make colored fabric directly. Cationic FDY is another variant of filament yarn. Cationic FDY yarn is developed from the Catonic PET chips.

Polyester FDY thread can also be twisted into polyester embroidery thread which is widely used in sewing. India and China are major producers of polyester FDY thread. Currently, we are exporting FDY yarns from China, India, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia to countries around the world. We have exclusive contacts with almost all suppliers and manufacturers in China, so we can give you the best price and quality.
